Note: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice did not screen for all critics. My review will be up by early Friday morning. In the meantime, here is what I suspect may be this week’s more interesting movie.
I don’t want to oversell Wolves Against the World, but writer/director/co-star Quinn Armstrong’s psychological-horror thriller is an impressive piece of work, a movie that starts out looking like a low-budget variation on Deliverance and then takes a turn into the everyday abyss of two men’s damaged psyches and increasingly battered bodies. For much of its running time, Wolves is a grim duet between once-close friends whose shared past splintered when their adult lives sent them down separate paths.
